College
for Creative Studies
hosted the 2007 Michigan Mud Conference.
Tom Phardel
was our tireless host from
October 26th -27th.
Peter
Pinnell, who currently
teaches at the University of Nebraska,
was the featured guest artsit. Pete
has been a potter for many years and
has offered workshops and been
in exhibitions throughout the world. In
addition, he writes a monthly column,
"As Far As I Know", for the magazine Clay
Times.
The conference
also included sessions on construction techniques,
surface treatment, and glazing. |

- Albian College; Albian, MI |
Albian
College, 'hostess'
Lynne Chytilo
and the MCAA
put on a great conference at Albian College
on October 7th and 8th, with Linda
Christianson
as the featured artist/demonstrator. Friday
night ended with a great time as participants
ate BBQ and viewed the Fire Sculpture. A
cup sale benefitting Cerf helped raise money
for artists-in-need. |

2003
- The Henry Ford's Greenfield Village; Dearborn,
MI |
In
2003 the MCAA was happy to team up
with The Henry Ford to put on a great
weekend of fun at Greenfield Village.
This conference featured Artist/Educator
Peter Beasecker from Southern Methodist
University in Texas. Participants
could also wander Greenfield Village
and tour the Pottery Shop headed by
Bryan VanBenschoten. |
