Statement I delight in abstracting landscapes in low
fire terra cotta clay. The brilliant range of color at this
temperature transported in thick slips and engobes sustain
me. The bowl and the vase form are where I capture image fragments
from my travel experience. Some very large images are condensed
in the relatively small space of pottery form. I am pulled
in by the gesture. It becomes a celebration of color floating
in thickly applied slips over the rounding terra cotta form.
