Statement:
CERAMICS FOR THE WALL…..WHY
NOT?
My pieces are hung like a painting.
They are made of porcelain and stoneware clays; they are dimensional,
catching light and shadow; they are colorful with ceramic
pigmented slips.
Large pieces are constructed of small
parts cemented to wood, protecting the ceramic and allowing
for easy hanging.
My subjects range from nature- trees,
birds, landscapes, wind, water and sky, to the human figure
to abstract ideas and geometrics.
My work has been in exhibitions, galleries
and fairs for over 36 years and has won prizes at Michigan
Ceramics, Pewabic Pottery and the Ann Arbor street Fair among
others, and won a commission for a 29x13’ wall piece
in the Oakland Township Hall, Goodison, Michigan.
My work can be seen at Pewabic Pottery
in Detroit, by appointment at my studio at Springbrook Farm,
Metamora, Michigan.
